Looking back, the past week was pretty crazy - Finished up the last exam as an undergraduate on Saturday, and then reported to work onboard the following Monday without much of a breather!
Being back onboard a different vessel after a 3-year hiatus is refreshing, more so with the ever friendly officers and crew that double up as colleagues, friends and even advisors, helping me get up to speed with life onboard briskly. =)
And of course, the fantastic lunches prepared by the chefs daily helps heaps too!
The ship's cohesion at East Coast Park today didn't disappoint with cycling, good food at C.Nai Hong Kong Cafe and surprises! New crew members received their ship's badge and ball cap, while us, the May babies, were surprised with an awesome Oreo cheese cake from Coffee Club and cards with personalised messages from the officers and organisers!
Ship's badge, ball cap and a birthday card!
It turns out that the majority of the May babies come from my department, and I actually share the same birthday as my superior! How cool is that?
With the Navy Open House 2010 coming up soon, I'm sure looking forward to catching up with the crew of the ship that I previously served on! For those interested to see what the Navy has to offer, do come visit us!
